About Us - PINNACLE PERFORMANCE
Pinnacle Performance is the sport psychology consultancy company ran by David Harrison (you can also follow him on Twitter,
@sheffclaret) and is based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. David has extensive experience of working in performance environments including sport, business and education to help people on their journey to reach their PINNACLE PERFORMANCE and then maintain this. He has over 6 years working with athletes and sports performers to develop their mental skills using sport psychology principles. He has also utilised organisational and self awareness prinicples to develop sports teams. He also has over 6 years working in the higher and further education sectors helping students to achieve PINNACLE PERFORMANCE in education and their whole life. He has a MSc Sport and Exercise Science (Sport Psychology), a BSc (Hons) Sport Development and Coaching and teaching qualification all from Sheffield Hallam University. His educational and experience give an unqiue rounded understanding of sports psychology and the sports industry, education and work with indvindividuals to realise their PINNACLE PERFORMANCE.
In Sport
David has completed BASES Supervised Experience and will submit for accreditation in the end of 2011. As a result David has worked with a range of sports and athletes (elite and amateur) at every level. These include:
- An U19 football academy
- An U19 rugby league academy
- A number of university athletes from an extensive number of sports (basketball, volleyball, shot put, rugby league)
- A U23 GB sprinter
- Martial Arts academy
- Other sports David has worked with include table tennis, triathlon, trampoling and diving.
In Education
David started to home his skills to help people develop to reach their PINNACLE PERFORMANCE in the sometimes challenging environment of supply teaching. Since then he has been employed by the Sheffield College where he teaches predominately on the foundation degree in Sport and Exercise Coaching on the HE programme. He also teaches on the BTEC sport courses.
He teaches modules around the following subjects Sport and Excercise Psychology, Principles of Human Behaviour, Applied Coaching, Coaching Skill, Coaching Methods, Sport Development, Professional Development.

- Team and Group Dynamics
- Imagery and Visualisation
- Goal Setting
